Our History
URBAN HARTMAN FOUNDED THE HARTMAN ANTIQUE EMPIRE FOUR GENERATIONS AGO AMIDST THE BACKDROP OF RAPIDLY INDUSTRIALIZING NEW YORK CITY. People may remember various store locations on 45th Street in New York and known as Hartman Trading Corp. In the 1960's the next generation purchased much of the inventory of French & Co. and moved to their location on Madison Avenue, right next to Parke Bernet Auction Gallery. URBAN ALWAYS ADVOCATED THE IMPORTANCE OF DEALING IN THE "RARE & EXCLUSIVE," IMPRESSING UPON HIS STAFF AND FUTURE HARTMAN GENERATIONS "QUALITY FIRST." THE HARTMAN FAMILY OF DEALERS HAS BEEN REVERED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD FOR THE PAST FOUR GENERATIONS AS LEADERS IN FINE ART, ANTIQUES AND JEWELRY. TODAY, MOST OF OUR FAMILY WORKS INDIVIDUALLY, HOLDING CONSISTENT THE SAME IDEAS OF QUALITY URBAN LEFT FOR US YEARS AGO. THEHARTMANGALLERY.COM OPERATES UNDER DON HARTMAN AND IS ASSISTED BY ALEC AND MARC HARTMAN.
FOUR GENERATIONS OF A CONTINUED FAMILY TRADITION.
